Toronto, Canada (June 2017)

This month we want you to learn and do. Do and learn. And to that end, we have some pretty big news to share this month: An online-only version of Elaine’s course at CCAD is launching this month through Kadenze, a company that specializes in online learning for creative individuals, especially musicians, designers, and performers.

So what does that mean? You can take Elaine’s course for free from the comfort of your own home along with 500 (and counting!) creative individuals from across the country. The first course covers goal setting, strategic planning for creative careers, and budgeting. And if you like it, you can always stick around for the second and third courses. They’ll still be offered from the comfort of your own home, but they aren’t part of the freebie package. Instead, they come with a certificate of completion and three hours of college credit (if you want it). Those courses cover financial reporting, cash flow management, and taxes. (Hooray for taxes!)

So even if school isn’t starting again in your area for a few more weeks (or more!), the learning can start for you as soon as tomorrow. And because this is a super flexible approach to learning, you can still use these last couple of weeks of summer to sneak in one or two more rejuvenating experiences before the fall season begins in earnest.

What We’re Doing

Join us from the comfort of your studio for this month’s online learning option – a full college course! – or meet us out and about in Columbus.

Money Matters for Creative Entrepreneurs

Understanding the intersection between money management and creative fulfillment is paramount to building a sustainable creative career, and this program is designed to help students build and use financial tools to forge their own paths. Each course will cover financial tools you need… And by mastering these tools, you’ll be empowered to create financial systems, evaluate financial information, and manage your tax obligations… all in service of your creativity.

Wild Goose Anniversary Party

The Wild Goose Business of Art series is turning three, and what better way to celebrate than with an anniversary party featuring some of the volunteer experts who have made the program great? You’ll meet presenters and panelists from the three-year period who will be set up to answer questions, and the rest of the evening will feature the business support you have come to know and love from Wild Goose. Say hi to Justin and Jesse while you are there. They are the ones who make this happen.
