Tuscarawas Arts Partnership

October, 2019

This fall, Elaine is excited to present to Tuscarawas Arts Partnership, located in the eastern part of Ohio. Tuscarawas Arts Partnership, or “TAP” holds a vision that encourages art to thrive by fostering partnerships between its arts, businesses, and community agencies to create a positive impact throughout the county.

In keeping with this vision, Elaine will present three different workshops on a range of topics, including budgeting, entity types, insurance, and taxes for creative individuals.

Today’s Workshop: Protecting Yourself: Contracts, Entity Types, Insurance and More
This workshop explores the less exciting—but still crucial—part of running a
creative business: Protecting yourself. We’ll review pros and cons of setting up a
separate entity for the business (like an LLC), identify the primary components of
any good contract, and investigate insurance options based on each individual’s
risk profile. We’ll also review the basics of intellectual property rights for creative
individuals (like copyright) and share resources for artists to use to learn more.

Arts & Numbers

You don’t have to do this alone. Arts & Numbers is a comprehensive financial guide for creative individuals… and anyone else with a passion for something other than accounting and finance. This book aims to provide basic information on finance and financial matters for creative entrepreneurs to take ownership of their financial situations, thus ensuring their long-term success, creative and otherwise.

Written in short story form with fictional anecdotes supporting the financial advice, Arts & Numbers promises to be an easy and useful read for creative entrepreneurs at any stage.
