What do you get when you mix a bunch of Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, and Leaders together in Columbus, Ohio?

Easy. You get the 2017 G.I.R.L. Convention. And Elaine is thrilled to be taking part.

What is the G.I.R.L. Convention?

For three days, girls will dominate Columbus, Ohio, and we want you to be a part of it! From October 6-8, 2017, G.I.R.L. 2017 will draw more than 10,000 of the brightest, toughest and most capable girls and women in the world for an event that only comes once every three years!

G.I.R.L. 2017 is for every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ who wants to stand up, take charge, and change the world, for her and for all of us. This event will offer tons of one-of-a-kind fun, inspiring speakers and enlightening educational opportunities—it’s THE event of the year for everyone who wants to see girls and women rise and shine! At the event, girls will build a lifetime of friendships and connections, as well as experience the world-famous ‘Hall of Experience!’ Excited? We are too!

What Is Elaine Doing?

The convention is packed with workshops, so Elaine is leading a shortened version of her Lego Negotiating activity to empower participants of the convention to advocate for themselves.

Lego Negotiations: Building Blocks for Self-Advocacy

Building self-advocacy skills is important to leaders, and this workshop will help participants do just that, through a hands-on negotiating activity with (you guessed it), Legos. We’ll cover the basics of a successful negotiation (hint: It isn’t about making the other part lose, it’s about making both parties win), share a few resources, and have lots of fun in the process. Oh, and did we mention there are Legos involved?

She’ll also be judging a pitch competition to support and coach the next generation of amazing innovators.

Tell Me More

The convention takes place on October 6, 7, and 8 in Columbus, Ohio. Elaine will be there on Saturday. Can’t wait to see you there!
