CCAD is hosting the 2014 Educators’ Summer Studio workshop from June 22-28, and Elaine’s session, The Business of Art & Design, will be featured on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.

Session Description

In response to demands from students and alumni alike, CCAD has reimagined its professional practice curriculum to focus on integrating practical, relevant business skills across all disciplines. Explore the art of presenting financial and business topics to creative entrepreneurs, and learn about best design practices in building curricula.

Workshop Outcomes

  • List the key attributes of a successful business course.
  • Summarize 3-4 effective approaches (examples of activities) to teaching business basics to artists and designers.
  • Describe the benefits of incorporating business savvy into an artistic/design practice.
  • Describe the benefits of incorporating business basics into artistic curriculum.
