Art Academy of Cincinnati: Budgeting for Grants

March, 2021

Elaine joins the student community of the Art Academy of Cincinnati to help students build budgets for a grant program.

Picture this: Your grant proposals are always approved because your budget aligns perfectly with your narrative. Understanding the costs to run a creative project (and communicating them through a budget!) is one of the first steps to reaching that level of empowerment. Plus, it helps you plan for uncertainties and earn enough to sustain your business. In this hands-on workshop, participants will build a budget for a grant they might apply for. As part of this workshop, participants will:

  • List the five-step budgeting process.
  • Apply the budgeting process to a specific grant opportunity.
  • Review best practices for writing an effective grant proposal.
