caa“Art and Entrepreneurship in the Creative Community” sounds enticing… and it was.  The College Art Association hosted this daylong event at CCAD, featuring robust discussions about entrepreneurship and its application to artists and other creative individuals.

Bill Strickland, the Founder and President of Bidwell Corporation, stole the show as the event’s inspirational keynote speaker.  He talked about empowerment through the arts and shared his amazing story about building a safe place for youth and disenfranchised adults to thrive.

I spoke that afternoon, along with two of my entrepreneurial colleagues at CCAD.  My session was called “Take Charge Collaboration” and we explored ways artists can creatively build partnerships and collaborations with others inside and outside of the art world.  My fellow presenters spoke as well, covering robust and applicable topics like intellectual property law and entrepreneurship.

Most of us left feeling inspired and entrepreneurial.  The College Art Association did a tremendous job hosting the event, and as always, CCAD was a lovely place to spend a few hours being inspired in unexpected and creative ways.
