Tuscarawas Arts Partnership: Artists Thrive 2021
Saturday, March 6th, 2021
The Tuscarawas Arts Partnership continues to support its community of creatives in the Dover, Ohio area through innovative Artists Thrive programming, and in 2021, Elaine will join the community for two workshops, including one on Taxes in the Age of COVID.
About the Workshop
Taxes are always complicated for individuals in the arts, and this year, they will be especially so as individuals navigate unemployment and emergency relief in addition to creative earnings. We’ll review federal and state income tax basics for creative individuals, and discuss common deductions claimed by creative entrepreneurs, plus what is different for 2020.
As part of this workshop, we’ll:
- Identify ordinary and necessary deductions common to creative businesses.
- Review the overall income tax landscape for federal and state filings.
- Review the unemployment and emergency relief tax implications from 2020.
- Identify records to retain for tax purposes and effective systems for tracking expenses and income.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2021 via Zoom from 10:00-12:00 ET.More Information
