The Second Annual Conference of the Society for Arts Entrepreneurship Education (SAEE) will be hosted by The Lawrence and Isabel Barnett Center for Integrated Arts and Enterprise at The Ohio State University in October… And we’ll be there.

Elaine is presenting a workshop entitled “Finding a Unicorn: CCAD’s Search For a Billion-Dollar Idea in Creative Entrepreneurship Education” on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Elaine’s session will summarize lessons learned during the inaugural year of offering integrated business and entrepreneurship curriculum at the Columbus College of Art & Design, including best practices that could be adopted by other educational institutions. The department experienced a 224% growth in enrollment in business and entrepreneurship classes year-over-year and it served 17.9% of the student population via courses.

Elaine will also demonstrate her approach to integrated, hands-on learning through a tax workshop, which has become one of the hallmark exercises of her work with students and professionals. The point of this exercise is not to teach tax information; rather, it is to demonstrate the tailored technical model implemented at CCAD.
